Daniel (they/them) is a non-binary writer, director, producer and performer and founder of Daniel Cottier Productions. They received a Bachelor of Performance: Acting from the University of Wollongong in 2014. Their debut novel, YEAH / YES was initially published as podcast and is now available as an audiobook and in print.Their first play, Occasional Combustible Disaster, premiered in 2024 at QTOPIA Sydney as part of their inaugural season. Producing credits include: Neighbourhood Watch, Dead Centre / Sea Wall (Stooged Theatre), SWEETiE (Midsumma) Cleansed (Apocalypse Theatre Co), National Theatre of Parramatta's 2023 Season, 45th Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras and Precinct Producer for 2025 Sydney Festival. Alongside Sugary Rum Production, Seymour Centre and Shane Anthony, they were awarded the Sydney Theatre Award for Best Independent Production for their work on The Inheritance (2024). Directing credits include Strangers in Between, 8: A Play About Marriage Equality (University of Wollongong), Punk Rock, Neighbourhood Watch (Stooged Theatre).
